Law of Negativity
As I coach, I have seen a lot of people in situations that they did not want to be in. They saw whatever it was as negative and nothing more than that. It is this train of thought that keeps people stuck in their negative situation. The fact is, just like a magnet, the law of polarity says that for every negative there is a positive. It is this law that can be implemented to change the course of a negative situation. Like a lot of mindsets that I coach on, it all starts with what you think. If all a person believes is that something is negative and fails to acknowledge there is a positive, a favorable solution will not be found. The thing is, no matter how hopeless and negative a situation might seem it is a universal law that the opposite “positive” side does exist. When I help a client who is feeling stuck in any given situation, I first ask them to think of anything good that can come from their current situation. The client usually says something like, “Nothing good can come of this, nothing!”, but as we keep talking through it, typically, a glimmer of something “good” or not quite as bad can be seen in it all. We then build on that “glimmer”. This takes time and is typically never easy to uncover, depending on how complex the situation is, of course. When in a negative situation, we often get blinded by it. That is where the ol’ saying, “Can’t see the forest for the trees.” came from. To move out of any negative situation, you must first acknowledge that there is a positive side. The other thing that is key is to remember that if you do not experience the negative side of something you cannot recognize and/or fully appreciate when it is good. In your thought life, stop thinking about how horrible something is and start thinking about how you want it to change and acknowledge the law of polarity. Believe it can be better and focus on it becoming better. When you start doing this, you change the direction of the energy you put out and open the pathway to the positive side. Rejoice in hope. Be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12
